LiveFree! High School Club Members Awarded NOPE Scholarships

Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education (NOPE) of Pinellas recently awarded three college scholarships to Pinellas County High School seniors who were recognized due to their active involvement in either the LiveFree! or SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) group at their high school and who successfully fulfilled the scholarship application requirements. The scholarships were awarded to the following high school seniors:

Pictured is Alex Lebhar a senior at Dunedin High School who won a $500 scholarship. He is pictured with NOPE scholarship chairman Susan Korabek and Deputy Jim Miller, School Resource Officer at Dunedin High. Alex was an active member of the SADD club at Dunedin High.  Deputy Miller stated, “Students like Alex make my job as an SRO satisfying and relieving because I know he does the right thing and goes beyond what is expected of him.” Alex will be attending the University of Central Florida in the Fall of 2013.

Pictured is Meagan Militello a senior at East Lake High School who won a $750 scholarship.  She is pictured with NOPE scholarship chairman Susan Korabek and Deputy Kurt Frazho, School Resource Officer at East Lake High. Meagan served as the president of East Lake High’s SADD club.  Deputy Frazho described Meagan as a fine example of what a SADD member should be. Meagan will be attending Florida Atlantic University n the Fall of 2013.

Pictured is Pooja Madhvani a senior at Largo High School who won a $1000 scholarship. She is pictured with NOPE of PInellas Coordinator Laurie Serra. Pooja is an active member of the LiveFree! Club at Largo High.  Denise Soffos, the Largo High LiveFree! sponsor stated, “I am impressed with Pooja’s dedication to education and her exemplary representation of integrity. She remains an active member of the Live Free! club encouraging others to participate and remain drug and alcohol free.” Pooja will be attending St. Petersburg College in the Fall of 2013.
