LA Based Film Festival, Writers in Treatment, Makes A Scene in South Florida

Tampa, Fl [October 8, 2012] –Floridians for Recovery is proud to announce the inauguralREEL Recovery Film Festival at the Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Weston, FL on November 2-4. Produced by Writers in Treatment, this three day festival showcases “REEL” films about addiction, alcoholism, behavioral disorders, treatment, and recovery.

The LiveFree! Coalition is proud to support this event and to serve on the planning committee. In the past, REEL Recovery Film Festivals have taken place in the typical underground film hot spots (i.e. Los Angeles, New York City, and Vancouver, B.C.). “These festivals are a celebration of the arts, writing, and creativity. Most importantly, they celebrate recovery,” said Leonard Buschel, founder of the Los Angeles-based nonprofit, Writers in Treatment.

“South Florida has a vibrant recovery community. I’m very excited about bringing the REEL Recovery Film Festival to Fort Lauderdale; it helps put Floridians For Recovery at the forefront of the Global Recovery Movement,” said Ron Tannebaum, Floridians for Recovery board member and CEO of InTheRooms.com.
