Youth Leadership Academy

The LiveFree! Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Pinellas County is now accepting applications for our 2016 Youth Leadership Academy. 

The LiveFree! Youth Leadership Academy (LYLA) is a six month leadership and training program designed to foster growth, leadership, and camaraderie.

We strive: To promote and encourage advocacy, community engagement, and professionalism by identifying and helping in the development of present and future leaders. The Academy will focus on issues surrounding underage drinking and youth substance abuse in Pinellas County.

The deadline for application submission is Friday, January 8, 2016, at 6 p.m. Interviews will be held on Tuesday, January 26 and Wednesday, January, 27, 2016.

Ten youth between the ages of 16-20 will be selected for the Academy and each participant is eligible to receive a monthly stipend.  In an effort to achieve diversity among the participants, qualified individuals will be sought from different backgrounds.

All applicants must attend the Youth Leadership Academy Open House on Friday, January 8, 2016.  Please feel free to stop in our office anytime between 3 and 6 p.m.
